Client Testimonials

I am a senior at The School of Inquiry and Life Sciences (SILSA) at Asheville. I am enrolled in the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) elective class. AVID is a college preparatory program. Though I have earned good grades in high school, I struggled to get the SAT score I wanted for college. Mr. Jerome Hughes, my AVID teacher, asked Lea McLellan to work with me one-on-one to prepare for the October SAT. Ms. McLellan is an amazing tutor. She was very considerate of both of our schedules. We met every Tuesday after school for about and 1 hour and a half to 2 hours long. She gave me in between work so that I could practice. We made a study guide for the things we touched on,and she always made sure that I asked questions if I was confused on something. She was a great tutor, and I really appreciate the time and effort she put in to make me more confident with my SAT testing.

Lea and Camille did a wonderful job of helping my daughter get prepared for the SAT. Lea had great follow-up and provided Selah and I both with reminders of her session time and sent a session re-cap of each session. You can tell they genuinely care about the success of each and every student. I highly recommend Blue Ridge Tutoring.

Lea McLellan has tutored our son weekly for over two years in preparation for mid level SSAT, Upper level SSAT, and in all forms of academic writing styles, steadily building his skill sets in these areas. Lea is an intellectual of the highest caliber, yet remains humble and cheerful. Her vast knowledge of multiple literary formats, contemporary to classical literature, language structure, grammar, parts of speech is outstanding. Her calm, inspiring, and consistent demeanor is the ideal influence for our son, especially after a long academic day. Her teaching style and tactics teach our son how to ask in depth questions when structuring an essay, enrich his vocabulary repertoire, and develop in him strong skill sets to write with confidence. This multi faceted approach provides him with a solid foundation in writing tools he and the confidence to tackle diverse writing formats. In conclusion, Lea is an invaluable asset in Julian’s academic maturation and success.

Camille’s tutoring helped me pass Chemistry. She is a very easy going person that doesn’t make a person feel more stress than they may already feel with their homework. She allowed me to think the problems through without interrupting me with the answer as some tutors do. If I needed help with a particular part of a problem she was there to guide me in to the solution. She is a great tutor and highly recommended.

Camille is amazing! Always there for help outside of tutoring sessions with text support and oh so sweet. I wouldn’t have passed Organic Chem 2 without her. Thank you so much again for all you did for me!

We were very pleased with Camille. After we left Camille, our son was very happy that she had explained the math in a way that he caught on very quickly. He said he loved the way she teaches because she made it seem so simple and easy to understand.

My daughter recently started tutoring with Lea. She is both professional and personable and is accommodating with scheduling. I have seen remarkable improvements my daughter’s confidence and her schoolwork. I love the follow up reports after each session, it’s nice to know how things are going and what is being addressed. We have used other tutors in the past and this is by far the best experience we have had. Thank you Blue Ridge Tutoring!
